§ 430.22. DUTY UPON APPROACH OF AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLE.

  • Upon the approach of any authorized emergency vehicle, every vehicle within one block of the route of such emergency vehicle shall immediately stop, except at the time they are on, or crossing, an intersecting street, in which event such vehicle shall run clear of the street intersection and then stop. Every vehicle along the route of such emergency vehicle shall immediately move to a position as near the right-hand curb as possible and remain therein until such authorized emergency vehicle has passed, provided that such emergency vehicles are operated on official business and the drivers thereof sound an audible signal by bell, siren or exhaust whistle.
